Nov. 1, 1976 THE SHREVEPORT TIMES Dwight Norsworthy DE DEATHS Funeral services for Dwight M. Norsworthy, 71, of Keithville will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Rose-Neath Funeral Home's Marshall Street Chapel. Mr.

Norsworthy died Sunday in the Virginia Hall Nursing Home after a long illness. The Nashville, native had lived in the Keithville-Shreveport area for 50 years. He was a retired brakeman and conductor with the Kansas City Southern Railroad where he was employed for 44 years. Mr. Norsworthy was a past vice president of the United Transportation Union No.

932. He was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Edna R. Norsworthy of Keithville; two sons, Wallace E. Norsworthy of Oak Grove and Darrell H.

Norsworthy of Klamath Falls, a daughter, Mrs. Walter J. Russell of Titusville, a sister, Mrs. Elise Garner of Nashville, a brother, Guy Norsworthy of Beaumont, 15 grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Officiating for the services will be the Rev.

Jack Merritt, pastor of Ingleside Baptist Church. Burial will be in Forest Park West Cemetery. Pallbearers will be A. R. Norwood, Wade Hampton, R.

P. Meredith, E. C. Truitt, H. P.

Johnson and T. E. Minks. Mrs. Grace Phillips Mrs.

Grace Phillips, the mother of John Clifford Phillips of 430 Chickasaw Trail, died in Fort Worth, Sunday after a long. illness. She was 87. Mrs. Phillips was a native of Missouri and resided in Shreveport for 25 years.

She was the widow of the late Claude Phillips of Shreveport. Mrs. Phillips was a charter member of the Kings Highway Christian Church and a member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Phillips was residing in Fort Worth at the time of her death and was a member of the Arlington Heights Christian Church there.

Besides her son, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Eris Dell Bostick of Fort Worth; one brother, Glen Hall of Scottsdale, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Harveson and Cole Funeral Home in Fort Worth. Burial will be in the Greenwood Memorial Park Cemetery.

S. F. Brunson Funeral services for Shirley F. "Red" Brunson, 58, of 1502 Clarence St. in Bossier City will be at 1 p.m.

today in the Marshall Street Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Britt Nelson, a Baptist minister. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery near Spring Ridge. Mr.

Brunson died Saturday in Schumpert Medical Center after a long illness. Jesse Gilliam Funeral services for Jesse Robb Gilliam 56, of 112 W. 80th St. will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Wellman's Funeral Home.

Officiating at the services will be Dr. Jimmy G. Thorpe, pastor of the Baptist Tabernacle. He will be assisted by Dr. Morris Robe, also of Baptist Tabernacle.

Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Gilliam was a native of St. Louis, and had been a resident of Shreveport since 1963. He was a truck driver for Cotton Construction Co.

and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Gilliam was dead on arrival at Willis-Knighton Hospital Saturday after a sudden illness. He is survived by his parents, Mr.

and Mrs. Theodore R. Adams of Shreveport; one son, Jesse Robb Gilliam Jr. of Auburn, two brothers, Chuck Adams of Jacksonville, and J. B.

Adams of Shreveport, and eight sisters, Kimmie Lee Adams of Shreveport, Mrs. Wilburn Scott of Shreveport, Mrs. Don Sampson of Seattle, Mrs. Neil Dunnam of Knoxville, Mrs. Leroy David of Shreveport, Mrs.

Peggy Huckaby of Harlingen, Mrs. Ema Jean Herrington of Auburn, and Mrs. Nancy Deatherige of Houston, Tex. Pallbearers will be A. H.

Swain, Leroy David, Wilburn Scott, Vernon B. Colton, Ronald R. Colton and T. Z. Galloway.

Eurie V. McMichael Eurie Vance McMichael, 43, of Freer, the brother of two local residents, died Saturday in Freer from a gunshot wound. Mr. McMichael was born in Ringgold and was operations manager of WECO Development Co. in Freer.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Holmgreen Mortuary chapel in Alice, Tex. The Rev. Charles Simpson, pastor of the First Methodist Church of Refugio, will officiate. Burial will be at Hall Memorial Park in Freer.

Mr. McMichael is survived by his widow, Betty McMichael; two sons, Richard McMichael and Steve McMichael and two daughters, Sherri McMichael and Kathy McMichael, all of Freer; one sister, Grace McMichael and one brother, Calvin R. McMichael, both of Shreveport. LOUISIANA Floyd Frye SPRINGHILL Floyd Frye, 66, of Springhill died Sunday afternoon near El Dorado, after a sudden illness. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m.

today in the Bailey Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Harold Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Springhill Cemetery. Survivors include his widow; six daughters, Mrs. Judy Franklin, Mrs.

Barbara Sullivan, Mrs. Linda Nelson, and Mrs. Cecelia Tripp, all of Springhill, Mrs. Jane Cook of Heflin and Mrs. Doris Mark of Camden, two sons, William Underwood Sarepta and Henry Smith of Oklahoma City, one brother, Bernice Frye of League City, and one sister, Mrs.

Essie Mae Lasyone of Shreveport; 23 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. David Stringer HODGE David Stringer, 56, of Hodge died Saturday night near Saline as a result of automobile accident injuries. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today in the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. A.

P. McManus officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive East Cemetery in Quitman. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs.

Kay Thomas of Ringgold, Miss Valerie Stringer of Florien, Mrs. Dixie Coleman, Mrs. Inez Morgan and Miss Renee Stringer, all of Jonesboro; two brothers, J. C. Stringer of Shreveport and Aubrey Stringer of Jonesboro; and five grandchildren.

Atkins 46, died Sunday morning in a local hospital after a brief illness. He was an attorney. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Walter Easton officating.

Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery. Survivors are his mother, Mrs. A. B. Atkins Sr.

of Homer; three sons, A. B. Atkins III, Ross Atkins and John Atkins, all of Ruston; and two daughters, Angleyn Atkins and Ginny Atkins both of Ruston. Artis Norsworthy NATCHITOCHES Artis F. Norsworthy, 75, of Bellwood died Saturday morning in an Angleton, hospital.

He was a native of Natchitoches Parish and was retired from the U.S. Forestry Service. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Shady Grove Methodist Church in Bellwood with the Rev. Lee Perkins officiat- ing.

He will be assisted by the Rev. David E. Allen. Burial will be in the Shady Grove Cemetery under the direction of the BlanchardFuneral Home of Natchitoches. include his widow; one son, Wayne W.

Norsworthy of Natchitoches; one daughter, Mrs. Alfred Gillespie of Angleton, two sisters, Mrs. Lula Reed of Mora and Mrs. Katie Sparks of Bellwood; one brother, Ira Norsworthy of Bellwood; and two grandchildren. Jack Newman BERNICE Jack Newman, 72, of Bernice, a retired driller, died at 8:20 a.m.

Sunday in the TriWard Hospital in Bernice after a long illness. He was a native of Coushatta. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today in the Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. J.

L. Foster officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. Frank Burroughs. Burial will be in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery near Bernice under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Bernice.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Azilee Newman; one brother, Ira Newman of Joyce; four sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Taylor of Winnfield, Mrs. Susie Mae Ray of Columbia, Mrs. Cecil Valentine of Hemphill, and Mrs.

Hazel Hawkins of Jacksonville, his stepmother, Mrs. Lula Newman of Joyce; and three half-, sisters, Mrs. Clara Bell Malcon of Grayson and Mrs. Marie Englis and Ruth Elaine Newman both of Joyce. Mrs.

Jodie Davison WINNFIELD-Mrs. Jodie Davison, 79, died Sunday morning in the Winnfield General Hospital after a short illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roy More officiating.

Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Winnfield. Survivors include one son, Murphy Davison of Houston, two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Evans of Montgomery and Mrs. Autry Quinn of Moorseven and five great-grandchildren.
